Spkr | Magic Links
We developed a smart link platform built for conferences. It automatically generates personalised microsites for speakers, making it easier for them to promote their talks with a single shareable link. By turning speaker announcements into distribution channels, the platform helps organisers increase event visibility and ticket sales.
Spkr.at | Smart Links for Conference Speakers Spkr.at was developed after extensive research into the event technology ecosystem. Through more than 100 interviews with organisers, speakers and industry operators, one pattern became clear. A significant share of ticket sales originates from speaker driven promotion, yet most speakers are given little infrastructure or incentive to actively promote their appearance. Many simply share a generic registration link, while others announce their talk once and never return to it. Spkr.at rethinks this dynamic. The platform allows conference organisers to automatically generate dedicated microsites for each speaker. These smart links function similarly to Linktree or Bitly pages but are purpose built for conferences. Each page presents the speaker, their session and the value of attending the event in a format that is easy to share across social platforms. By giving speakers a personalised page tailored to their audience, organisers can transform passive announcements into ongoing distribution channels, helping speakers promote their appearance while increasing ticket conversion for the event. The project began with an unusual constraint. The domain spkr.at had to exist first. After a six week effort to acquire it, the product took shape around the idea of a simple, memorable link designed specifically for the conference ecosystem.
